Former Sinton pitcher Jason Adams signed Wednesday with the St. Louis Cardinals and is scheduled to report to the club's rookie league franchise in Johnson City, Tenn.
As a senior in 2003, Adams went 9-2 with a 1.17 ERA and 100 strikeouts. He also hit .337, scored 32 runs and drove in 25 to help Sinton reach the 3A state championship game for the second straight season.
The Pirates captured the 2002 state title behind Adams' five hit shutout in a 5-0 win over Forney.

Jason was a great pitcher for us as you know. He played with Adrian Alaniz who is now a standout at UT. Adrian was our ace pitcher but Jason did great for us and no doubt on most teams would have been their ace. At State Adrian pitched in the semis against Abilene Wylie because we knew they had great hitters and Jason was able to pitch the final championship game against Forney and did a great job for us and was the MVP of the State Championship game. We are so happy and best wishes to Jason.

i cant honestly tell you the years, but i do think that our team probably had some of the best players to go through the league in a long while....

I think hands down the best team was the 1985 All Star team/players. Everyone of those guys were monsters!!! I think their accomplishments speak for themselves! ;)

You're probably right though about the time frame as far as best players to go through the league. There is Josh Rodriguez to consider if he played LL.

the best little league players i ever saw was the years when Keneth Burke was 12. he and another extremely talented pitcher didnt make it past district all-stars only because that year was an amazing team (im not positive but i think GP) beat them in a pitching duel. i dont remember all the players, but i do remember i was positive that team could have won the state tournament in waco had they advanced.
there have been so many great little leaguers go through Sinton as proven by their high school teams.

How ironic is it that Jason gets signed by the very same organization that spent a draft choice on Adrian??;)

I don't think they signed Adrian, just spent a draft choice on him in what will probably prove to be a year too early. Doubt he'll leave Texas for it.
