With signing day on Wed. have Meeks and Slaughter found a place to play college ball yet. I wish these guys the best of luck, they are both class acts.

I haven't talked to Brent in a couple of weeks, but he had 4-5 good prospects last I heard, probably D1 but maybe not major conferences (although at least 1 Big 12 school may pan out). I'm not sure if Mikey is going to sign, because I think he may be more interested in a baseball scholarship. They are both great kids!

Sure Hope Brent Slaughter gets picked by a Big 12 team. I watched him play in 2 playoff games. Awesome player, Size, speed, and endurance. Reminds me of Robert Straight.

old green, were you one of the Cuero wild bunch at the Yoakum and LaGrange games?

Brent is the total package, no doubt. He will be a good college linebacker.

I agree both are good guys. I know a lot of kids in the district look up the them as atheletes.

I was there . Hell of a game. I try to support all the teams in the area during playoffs.

Brent is looking at Tech very close he also has had alot of attention from TCU and SWT may not be not D1A but they said he can start this fall. Mikey could play baseball and football at any school he wants to. there are some schools looking at him, I just hope they give him a chance cause they wont regret it. Probably the best duo I have seen in 3A football.

Yes Toby Tou got that Right. When we play each other it is war. But we support each other. Just about everbody in both towns are related or work together. I had two cousins playing for Yoakum. Best friendly rivalry in Texas.

Old green, I enjoyed that Yoakum game more than any other I watched all year. Down to the wire between two damn good teams.

Yeah Toby070.I was therein the Yoakum section with some of my Bulldog buddies.
That game went down to the wire.
Ther were some damn good defensive plays .
They had a hard time stopping Slaughter's power and Meeks fakes.
