I read the Jays are not putting him on the roster and have the option to trade or option him down to the minors....but he's batting 309 and has hit 12 homers this season, you think the stros would take him, or need him? i think he could be the bat we need

Remind me of what position he plays.

It all depends on what you want to give up for him. Who do you bench?

NO! That's your second baseman of the future.

Hillenbrand plays third also. That would give Houston three third baseman. not a good move.

That, plus he got himself cut by not sitting in the dugout for last night's game. Probably not the best teammate in the world...

Maybe not, but several headache players have come to Houston and did fine. Maybe if you surround them with good clubhouse guys they react better.

Probably so...Carl Everett didn't have any problems in Houston that I remember. Still, I wouldn't think the he's what the Astros are looking for right now but you never know.

Last time I heard about this guy he was an all-star 3rd baseman for the Red Sox..

it's just something you should consider, maybe bring him in after you take out your starter, like become a late DH

Hillenbrand's a streaky hitter-- the kind of guy who won't keep that .309 average up. He's had a great year so far, but I can't see it lasting.

I agree, don't give up Burke. Hillenbrand would fit better on an American League club. With the Astros you would have to move somebody off the order. Hillenbrand can play either 3B, either corner outfield spot, or even 1B. Again the question is...... who do you sit out?
