i listen to mike & mike in the morning. yesterday they were talking to Dan Marino. i never realized how much he sounds like a cast member to The Sopranos.

my advice when traveling throughout Houston area is to choose either morning show, afternoon drive time show....

if you try and listen all day, they beat topics to death!!

i.e. 1 hour on whether or not Garner show have sacrificed bunt .

Rome midday is ok. Mike and Mike is new to me, but I'm beginning to listen more and more.

here's what comes on 1230 KSIX through out the day, and my take on them....

7.00-9.00 Stephen King-King Sized Morning Show= GOOD south texas sports coverage

9.00-11.00 Colin Cowherd- The Herd- GOOD National show, however he is a big notre dame homer and doesn't apologize for it, but he's witty on his feet

11.00-2.00 Jim Rome- The Jim Rome Show- GOOD show with a specific style

2.00-3.00 Dan Patrick- The Dan Patrick Show- HORRIBLE show becuase of DP, he's pompous and arrogant

3.00-5.00 Erik Kusilias- The Sports Bash= DECENT sports show, my grief is he he likes to use the phrase "let me tell you what you SHOULD be rooting for..." which irks me

5.00-6.00 Henry Hernandez - The Sports Drive- DECENT show about a range of sports and life topics. The thing i like about him is his how gracious he sounds to have the chance to do this show

I like Jim Rome. He always cracks me up. I agree with AJ about Dan Patrick...he's like a lot of other ESPN anchors who would rather kiss their own a$$ than tell me what's going on. Locally here in Houston 610AM and 790AM are both OK, but they do tend to beat the dead horse quite often as someone previously mentioned.

the ticket is the only one i can stand.

espn radio makes my ears want to bleed. i can't stand listening to them pontificate about how great everything is in the North East. and the local stuff, galloway in particular, is absolutely horrible.

I've been in sales for 6 years and it's become a staple of my day. I've listened to most of all of them around the country and different points in my life and have loved and hated them all. The most consistent for me has been Fox-associated stations and Rome. Rome can be hilarious at times.

The only time I hated Colin Cowherd or Jim Rome was when we listened to them both on our drive up to Columbus for the Ohio State game last year.

Then...we got the Arkansas radio stations. Those were hilarious. Call after call after call was for Houston Nutt to be fired right then and there. I forget who had just blown them out that weekend. But it was hilarious.

It's fun to take a road trip that long and listen to the sports stations in various college states. The Tennessee guys were pretty cool. They thought Texas would win and they were also calling for Fulmer's head.
