Maybe our Generals should take a lesson from General J. J. Black Jack Pershing's solution to the terrorist problems of his day.:D :D

There are still plenty of these people in Mississippi. They belong to a group the starts with a K. Call them up and they would be glad to handle this for you.

I'm sure you were joking, but I don't think you can put General Pershing in the same catagory as the group you have mentioned.

General Pershing was a very respected and accomplished General in our army, who realized that the answer to an enemy with ancient beliefs and terroristic tactics, was to use a method that would actually penetrate their closed, twisted beliefs.

Basicly, he hit them where it hurt them the most. If they are willing to torture and kill innocent people in order to get into their heaven, use their own twisted beliefs to keep them out.

Very tough indeed. I was told once that Lee Simmons who was the warden at the prison in Huntsville had an incident (in the early 1930s) that he handled (and he wasn't ever criticized for it either). About 8 inmates took some guards and other people hostages in a building and were quickly surrounded by guards outside. Simmons wanted to get it settled before the media and outsiders showed up so he got on the loud speacker and said to the prisoners "You have two minutes to stop outside and surrender peacefully and then I am going to send my guards in. If any of my guards or hostages are harmed any way then I am going to take those of you that survive outside the walls and tie you up and throw gasoline on you and light it up."
Well before the two minutes were up all 8 prisoners had surrendered peacefully.
