Yesterday it was 104 in Gilmer. It was even in the upper 90s in Toronto, Canada. There's no place to run. I think Al Gore's movie is causing it.

Rule of thumb in the CC area....

take the current temperature
add 20 degrees for humidity
add 2 degrees for each mph under 10 mph that the wind speed is
and that's what it feels like...

At my house near the water yesterday, we had a high of 94 with 8 mph winds

So it felt like 118

Last night when I got to the tennis courts at 6PM...my car registered 109. In Dallas you can add about 5-10 degrees for humidity (well say 7 for this one) and then an additional 10-15 degrees for the heat "on the court" thanks to the sun reflecting on the concrete. Factor in that there was not really any measurable wind...and it felt like about 128-130 on the court yesterday afternoon. I can't wait to go back again today! At least we don't start until 7:45 tonight! :)

I'm stuck here in SA waiting on the HVAC dude to show up because my AC is down. It's currently 90 inside with the temp rising as I type this. :( :( :(

about 3 years ago we had the most efficient ac we could find installed. our electric bill broke $200 last month. very depressing. we keep it set to 78 during the day and 75 at night :(

WE MOVED YESTERDAY, SO WE ARE NO LONGER JUST NORTH OF CORPUS!

We are about 14 miles south of George West on a county rd that goes to Anna Rose. Weatherbug shows Alice at 98 degrees. That's as close as I can get to being accurate.

High of 94 in Newberry, and people are bitching. I keep telling them it isn't all that bad, but they think I'm crazy.

The highs i've been touting on this thread have been without heat index figured. I think we've had 3 days straight at 105 or higher... today will probably be #4. STOP THE MADNESS!!!

Unless we get one of those thunder storms roaming around. Then after it passes it's back up to 95 and 100% humidity.

Where is winter? It cannot get here soon enough. I had a job interview yesterday in STL, but it got cancelled. I was driving in to STL on wednesday night, it was black, the tornado sirens were going off. 600,000 people as of last night (thursday) are still without power and they dont expect o have the electricity back on until Monday. The heat index was 112 yesterday and very humid with NO airconditioning. None of the traffice signals were working. I'm back in Springfield now, but seriously that kind of heat with no air sucks..... because it typically does not get that hot uphere.

I was in SE Oklahoma for about 2 weeks...just got back yesterday. It was 112 with about 95% humidity... which = hotter than hell itself!!! At 10:45 one night last week it was still 102. It is hot here in SW Kansas...but nothing up here equals that. We did have a break today...it was not quite as hot.

LOL.... they better watch what they wish for...I told my husband I wanted to live where there were REAL winters (this was said about 10 years ago) ....now look at me! I do not enjoy the 20 below weather we had last winter...

the best winters are south texas winters when it actually gets cold. but i love winter trips to vegas/mt. charleston and davis mountains. my coldest night camping though was 16 degrees at the seminole canyon state park in del rio. i love the cold. but months of below freezing weather would get old. thats why i only vacation in the stuff
