Yup. Senior year. The town was so alive that year, and in the years that followed. Hopefully the new coach will help bring back some pride.

Actually, Agua Dulce is one of my favorite teams. Probably my favorite 1A. I took a liking to them back when I was working at Channel 10. Their entire football team that year (2000) exuded class and I've never seen a community with as many 'good' people. They would kill some other team, then go help them up and tell them how good of a team they were and sincerely mean it. It started with the QB and a couple of the other good players and trickled down the whole team.

I still remember talking to a couple of cheerleaders who were telling me that pretty much the whole cheerleading squad, football team, and the rest of the school went on a church retreat every summer with First Baptist there right across the street from the stadium. The kicker was that they weren't all Baptists, but pretty much all of them were Christians and even the ones that weren't were included to make it this huge, community-building field trip. No pressure on the non-Christians and non-Baptists

I've never been more impressed by a community. Needless to say, I went to their games everytime I could find a way to make it. I think we wound up going to like four AD games and making two or three practices for stories.

Gotta go with the Gobblers... always liked Bay City because they were the only other bad asses year in and year out in the 'so-called' Victoria area, may have to hate 'em this year since we play each other but it'll be hard after cheering for them against El Campo the last two...

Also like Brownwood just because I can... I even have a camo (mossy-oak patter) hat for hunting with "Brownwood Lions" on it...

5A - Katy
4A - Bay City and Brownwood
3A - Cuero (other 3A would most-likely be, well, no one though Hutto for sure earned my respect last year)
2A - Gotta go with Refugio because they represent this "area" well
1A - Shiner, they have good beer (Plus they're only about 25 or so minutes from Cuero and won State in '04)
6-Man - Huh?

But to follow Gato's lead just read the signature ...:D

Yah, Port Lavaca had it all wrong, they let me start on A-Team in 7th grade :p

I remember our two scrimmages both being against Cuero, once in PL and the other in Cuero, we had our butts handed to us like crazy, but since I had lived in Cuero most of my life up until moving to PL I was almost happy :D

But on a serious note, I think the cheerleaders, the players, the teachers, the administration and just about the whole damn community get scared when Bay City rolls into town...

Thank God I moved back to Cuero...

In 3A, Jasper and WO-S are my favorites. I also root for PN-G and Bay City in 4A because I like the programs AND because we play our "A" game against both. I think we were Bay City's only loss in 2000 and one of only two for PN-G in 99 (the other being the title game against Stephenville).
