Construction causes backup for those travelling from Portland to CC

Drivers attempting to go to Corpus Christi from the Portland area may want to leave some extra time while traveling on U.S. 181. Construction on the Harbor Bridge has narrowed traffic to just one lane.

An eyewitness call has traffic southbound on 181 is backed up to Burleson Street overpass. Construction will continue until 4 p.m. today, according to Texas Department of Transportation officials.

i hate those. ive been caught in that mess before. its not as bad as normal austin traffic, but its still a pain

Coming home from work yesterday, they had the on-ramp from 37 to 181 to one lane. This backed up traffic on that part of 37 and also on Crosstown. I got on the freeway at Agnes and had to work my way into the line of traffic. My commute home yesterday was an hour.
