In the toughest stage yet Menshov won but American Floyd Landis came in second and takes the overall lead! If he can keep ahead or stay close then he has a great chance to win the race if it comes down to the last time trial before Paris. Of course there are still more stages to do and crashes to be avoided but this was a great day for Floyd. It looks like he is going to be America's best bet to win the stage this year. But remember there are still several challengers withing striking distance. Go Floyd Go! A wonderful day indeed! Let's hope more are to come!

The Tour is halfway through believe it or not. It ends on Sunday July 23rd. An interesting note is that today's stage concluded in Spain which is the last Country other than France that the Tour will visit this year. From now on it will be done in France.

Actually the Tour de France is past the halfway mark. There are 9 stages left and will be from July 14 to July 16, July 17 (Monday) is a rest day, then July 18 to July 23 when the race concludes in Paris. By long time tradition the last stage on Sunday, July 23 is just a formality where all the riders ride together into Paris. It is a glory day for the winner and for all those who have finished the race.
