Did anyone else notice that Bowie had both the first AND second team All-State DH?? You'd think that an offense with 2 DH's in the line-up would have fared better. lol

or how the SS and P from Gladewater was 2nd Team All-State at BOTH positions.

It always amuses me how teams that don't make any noise in the playoffs have a 25-50% of their starters making the All-State list...yet a team like Wylie gets 1 kid on honorable mention...yet somehow makes it to the state tourney!

I think the state champion only had two guys listed. Wow. Bridge City had five different guys. Falfurrias had five but no one on the first team. The other state tourney team, Wylie, had only one player listed.

i noticed that, especially the wylie guys. we played them, and they definitely had some high-caliber all around players. these teams never really do justice to a lot of the good players, in any sport for that matter.
