I have an announcement to make...

[Sweetwater Red]

I am 35 years old and have been on here trash talking with
Snyder kids or adults (some who have the maturity of a kid ).
I have decided that it is time to quit the trash talking with the
Snyder faithful. It starts and ends with the same jokes and same
digs(i.e. our stadium, Dee Walker, missed XP's, losing in the
first round, etc.).
I apologize to the Down Lowers who are annoyed by the back
and forth of Sweetwater and Snyder. Also, for all the thread
hi-jacking.
DaHop72, Snyder_TigerFan, or SnyTigBaseB07...I'd be glad to
talk to ya'll about anything sports. You three represent your
school and town well.:D

There is a bit of a "two year" pattern over the past 10 years. It seems like Wylie wins two in a row, then Sweetwater wins two, then Wylie. Now it would be Sweetwater's turn the next two. You heard it here first!

For the record...this post is 100% sincere. Thanks Red. You know I have seen the uglyness of this rivalry and the competiveness as well. It went from a great rivalry that diminished somewhat when Snyder moved to 4a for 2 years and then fired back up when they moved back down. It has been full blown again for many years. It will ease up for the next 2 years with the exception of any playoff games and then hopefully the two teams will return to the same district again. As you know my buddy Stang says I don't count because of my bi-partisan status,:D but I stand in a unique situation that a lot of people have never and will never be in and that is to attend one school and then end up living in a rival town such as Snyder. I have fond memories of growing up in Sweetwater and still have many dear friends that I grew up with that I still keep in contact with. I support the Tigers because that is where I live and where my son attends school. As a fan of both towns I can root unabiased for both teams other than one time a year. My son on the other hand is a Tiger to the core. When Sweetwater played Monohans he and I attended the game. I wore red to support the Mustangs and he had no problem with that, he on the other hand also rooted for the Mustangs but as a true Tiger he had to wear his Black and Gold. I think too many times in life people take things too seriously, football is just a game and hopefully people see that. Should that mean we all joins hands and have a group hug. Heck no, that would take all the fun out of the rivalry. So with that being said keep the barbs coming, it keeps the board livened up and allows alot of people a little levity to their day.
