FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Austin, TX _ The UIL has announced the five Texas Dodge Dealers Lone Star Cup winners for the 2005-06 season.
Fueled by its recent state baseball championship and impressive showings in
both boys and girls soccer, The Woodlands held off three-time defending Lone Star Cup champion Humble Kingwood for the Class 5A Lone Star Cup. It is the first-ever Lone Star Cup for The Woodlands, which is located north of Houston and has a student enrollment of 3,810.
Dallas Highland Park won the Class 4A Lone Star Cup for a record fourth-straight year. It is the seventh overall Lone Star Cup for Highland Park, which won state championships this past year in both boys wrestling and team tennis and advanced to the UIL state championship in girls soccer.
Abilene Wylie collected its second Lone Star Cup in Class 3A and advanced to
the UIL state championship in girls basketball and made lengthy runs in the baseball and boys basketball playoffs. Abilene Wylie last won a Lone Star Cup in 2001.
Argyle, which is located north of Dallas, won its first-ever Lone Star
Cup, in Class 2A, while Class A Lindsay also collected its first-ever Lone Star Cup.
Argyle won state championships in both marching band and girls basketball
and posted an impressive showing at the State Academic Meet. Lindsay also excelled at the State Academic Meet and made deep postseason showings in a handful of girls sports: basketball, track and field and softball, as well as a great finish in baseball.
The Texas Dodge Dealers Lone Star Cup recognizes five high schools (one in
each of the five UIL classifications) based on their overall team achievement in a variety of sanctioned athletic and academic championships.
All UIL member high schools in good standing are included for contention for the Texas Dodge Dealers Lone Star Cup.
The Texas Dodge Dealers are a proud UIL Corporate Partner as the official vehicle of the Texas high school championships. The Texas Dodge Dealers Lone Star Cup program began during the 1997-98 season.

If it was, I apologize. I'm on the UIL mailing list and they just emailed it to me.

No, but I DID find out about the UIL hearing on G.J. Kinne before it happened by being on this mailing list. Otherwise I probably would not have known about it until after the fact.

Does anyone know Argyle's mascot? Surely they are not the Socks?
