I think the moderators should start a petition to change this to Texas High School Football. Thee can not be as many rodeo people as there are High School Football people. This is just wrong.

Why limit it to just high school football?

Football in general would be the correct answer. Also, basketball in Texas gets more popular every year.

That was my sport of choice too. When I was in high school, our football program totally sucked and politics were really bad, I finally had enough of it and turned to bullriding full time. Unlike our football program, it was just me and the bull, no excuses, no politics. I figured that daddy might be able to pay his son's entry fee, but he couldn't help little johnny stay on the bull for 8 seconds:D

I still hate politics in school athletics and refuse to play that game. I tell my boys that that if they get something in athletics, its because they have earned it, not because I did anything to influence the coaches. It definatly hurts when they see other kids, who have fathers that do play those games, benefit from politics, everyone knows who they are. But over all I think my guys will benifit more in life if they do it on their own.
