H-E-B offers $5 gas coupons for summer
By Fanny S. Chirinos Caller-Times
July 8, 2006

As gas prices hover near $3 a gallon, H-E-B is offering an incentive to its shoppers.

For every $25 spent on H-E-B-branded products, the chain will give a $5 H-E-B gas coupon. The gas coupon limit per shopping trip is $30.

The promotion began Friday and runs through summer and is available at all area H-E-Bs, said spokeswoman Belinda Hernandez.

"H-E-B is trying to ease the pain at the pump," Hernandez said.

A complete list of products is available near the in-store sales racks and signs and product tags throughout the stores also will remind customers.

we laughed cause we don't have HEB gas in Cuero, so we'd have to drive 28 miles to Victoria to get $5 worth of "free" gas LOL LOL

We have and HEB in town, but the nearest one with a gas station is in Portland, but I hardly ever get gas $30 at a time.

i had a lady drop about 200 bucks today on regular groceries and she got 15 bucks in free gas...
its really good if you are buying groceries for the week or two... or if you are like me and travel to work everyday (piratebg, you fall in that category too)

I spend about $175-$200 on groceries, but I've never gotten anything that even says free gas.

it JUST started on wednesday... so umm... buy lots of HEB products, not the Hill Country Fair stuff... and then when you use the coupons at the gas station, they give you a coupon for free stuff inside

Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever gotten gas at an HEB before.

We don't have one in LH, but there is one in Cedar Park and one in Georgetown. Both are about 10-15 miles away. Their gas is the cheapest so I buy there whenever I can.
