How good will LE be this fall? I guess I could start reading my DCTF and form some of my own opinions but thats sounds like work.

From what i read LE has a pretty good running back quarterback combination

what also makes it interesting is that LE and Gilmer could meet early in the playoffs so watch out for that meeting if it happens...i hope it does

they had some really athletic looking kids on their baseball team. Wasnt sure how many of those were football players and underclassmen. What was the reciever they had that ended up at ou a few years ago?

I am fighting the urge as of now to go see Gilmer play this season. They are not even anywhere remotely close to Abilene in the reg season.

Take Vernon out of your top 5 Rickadamus. The offensive coordinator has a son playing at a different HS and he will be watching Jr play on Friday nights instead of running his wing-t offense. The Wing - T needs to be set up through play calling to be successful. This was the case last season as well, and the Lions never had any continuity on the offensive side of the ball. Look for the Lion offense to be similarly confused this season. My sleeper pick here would be the Burkburnett Bulldogs.

I really feel like if they can get those kids playing as a team they will be really good. There is so much talent there it is a shame to watch the way it never comes together. I cant pick the same teams as everyone else. I will either look even stupider or really smart.

I like your picks, I would just change 6 w/7 :D and add Hidalgo, the top 3 in 32-AAA should be pretty good. MV I agree too, dave gave them a little too much credit.

5.??? unless something has drastically changed, Sinton will be one of the top 5 in Reg. IV then you can't count out Port Isabel and Zapata, although, I have NO idea how they should look this year.

The QB is Will Middlebrooks--outstanding baseball player--maybe the best in 3A in '07. He is a stud. Here is his football profile.

Zach Fowler, the baseball coach's son, is the other very athletic kid on the baseball team. I don't remember what position he plays on the football team.

I am suprised at R III. No mention of Liberty Hill or Cameron. But with Cameron's schedule, they might not make any noise until the playoffs.

Word on the street is that you will be able to see how good Monahans will be by their early season schedule. Same thing that Sweetwater Red said. The Loboes made the final 8 last year before getting knocked out by Sweetwater. The Loboes scrimmage Greenwood and Abilene Wylie. The Loboes open up with Snyder, play Andrews who has dropped down from 4A, plays Midland Christian, and plays Graham at a neutral site.

Just a note on Vernon

Last years coordinator was J. Butchie who only has one child a baby. Not the one that plays in Electra. Butchie took a head coaching job over the summer so I do not know who they will have as the o-cooridnator. They may have to bring in someone. Vernon will have a good team this year. Like Graham they return a lot of young players.
