I think this would be a great topic. What is the most exciting HS football game you've either played in or seen? I know that most of them are recent, but I played college ball and wasn't able to see other classics. Here's my 5, plus a bonus game!!!

1. I think it was in '86 I was in elementary school, Palestine and Henderson. A close tight football game, very foggy night. Henderson was up 15-8 and with 10 secs left Joe Calhoun threw a 50 yd Hail Mary that was caught for a TD, but the play was called back for illegal provedure. I remember tearing up, becuase I thought the game was over, so there was 1 sec left and he threw a 55yd Hail Mary and was agian caught for TD our side went crazy and running onto the field. That's when I feel inlove with football.

2. My jr yr, we played Athens in '93, I scored 3TDs in what was and still is the state record for the highest tie for a football game, 41-41 we missed a field goal on the last play that would've won it.

3.'04 DII State championship game between Kilgore and Dallas Lincoln. Kilgore won in 2OT on a block field goal that was ran back for a TD. 33-27. I have the audio from the final play I'll post it when I get home.

4. '04 Regional Semis between SLC and Abilene 50,000 fans in the stands @ Texas Stadium. Game back and forth, Abilene driving deep inside SLC territory in the final secs and SLC gets an interception with 15 sec left to secure a 35-30 win.

5. '05 State Title game between Hutto and Tatum, very good game. My girlfriend is from Tatum, but I don't think Hutto lost the game, they ran out of time. Tatum fans before you jump on me you did everything to win the game. So I give you all the credit.

Bonus. '04 D1 State Title between Marshall and Ennis, Very good game, Marshall actually ouplayed Ennis, but Ennis made the big play and a stop on 4th down in the last second to win 23-21

That was a heartbreaker.....we were listening to that game right before the beginning of the Greenwood/Daingerfield game!

No need to educate me. I already knew the answer. ;) But reading the article reminded me of the excitement. :)

I think anyone is gonna think a game their team played in was the most exciting..and I'm no different.

But the most "exciting" game to me was the Greenwood/Daingerfield matchup in the semi-finals in 2002...and it wasn't because of the game so much as the big onfield fight they started with 30+ seconds left.

Now THAT was exciting!!:D

I have two favorites!!!

1. 2003 My senior year Wharton 32 Cuero 29. Wharton goes up with like two minutes left. Cuero then drives down the field but only gets to about the 18 yard line. Cuero attempts the field goal to tie it "which their kicker had a real strong leg" but Wharton's Kellen Heard all 6'6 350+ breaks through the line and blocks the kick and Wharton wins.

2. 2000 Bay City 7 Nederland 0. Good hard fought game with some hard hitting. Mainly a defensive struggle!! Bay City goes up 7-0 in the third! But in the 4th quarter with less than 5 seconds left Nederland gets to the B.C. 1 yard line!!! Only time for one last play! Nederland runs a fullback dive and B.C. Archie McDaniel jumps over the Nederland o-line and stops the fullback with no time left and B.C. advanced to the Semi final and then went on the win State!!

oh was the Gilmer V Jasper game a fun one to call..THE HEART ATTACK IN NAC lol.

Not sure what was more enjoyable, the game, or chatting with all the DL nuts while broadcasting the game.

Only thing I really remember from that game is the migrane headache I had. During commercial breaks I would be laying my head down barely able to see. Then we would go back on the air, and I would have to ramp it up because Jasper was making the comeback.

Sad thing is that game is lost...When LST closed, we lost the files, and my computer crashed, so that game is lost, at least from the LST broadcast
