LOL. I know what you were getting at... it's Will Middlebrooks that you're thinking of. Probably one of the five best players in 3A going into his senior year.

Needville is allright. Seems they pulled another Wilkerson out of their butts, & he is almost as good as the ones from a few years back. Otherwise they are kinda boring to watch. Give Coach Roark some time for his system to filter through the ranks & that may change in a couple years.

If you do end up in the area check out Lamar Consolidated instead. Jacquizz Rodgers (243-2278, 34 TD's as a soph.) is one of those rare phenoms that you don't run across very often. Unfortunatley they play Bay City in Bay City this year, but they host a 1st year school The Woodlands College Park on Sept 30, & Rodgers should put on one of his 300yd shows again.

District 24 isn't really much outside of Columbia & Wharton, and thats if Wharton dosn't crater again. We play 'em Oct 13 in Wharton, if your interested. It would be worth the trip to see the 2 best players in the district on the same field in Jamial Shelton & Jared Flannel.

yes wilkerson...he didnt play his freshmen year...i remember when we played against him in junior high we always thought he was real good...didn't show me much in our game last year though...and yea i think if we play how we can the game wharton vs. columbia should decide the district maybe

i've heard this statement for the past 6 times Wharton and Columbia have played each other, and everytime, no matter how good of a game it is, the result is always the same...........Columbia on top

and you also can't deny the game last year would have been closer if our quarterback wouldn't have gotton hurt...maybe we would have even won...but those are memories now, oh well:)

The loss of Beasley will affect WO-S, but another star could be waiting in the wings. This year's QB, Jacoby Franks, has already committed to Texas Tech. RB/WR Earl Thomas has committed to UT. We should be solid, at least.
