What is the average rate paid for unloading hey sqauares? We got paid $0.25 when we were told it would be $0.65. I really thing we worked hard to just be shafted.

Heck, I've never done it for a set price, I've always just helped family and friends load and unload squares and unravel round bails to make square ones...

just get me a couple of bucks, beer or a meal and I'm fine:D

If you find a rancher that doesn't give his word on a hand shake then walk away. Because he's a piece of $h*t.

I never got a deal in writing. I guess I should have. I think I got a raw deal. After all, my dad just said to get in the truck and get ready to work. There was no negotiating involved.;)

Ya we unloaded them off the trailer and stacked them for the guy. It was a 160 squares also...The thing was though earlier on in the day we had picked them out of the field for someone else...but also loaded that guys stuff on the trailer also...So ya I think it's safe to say we got the shaft....

jsut learn that lesson and remember it next time you make a deal. It isnt very often that a farmer or rancher will go back on his word but make sure it is all clear in the beginning.

We'd get paid .05 and sometimes .15 if the guy was rich. Spent lots of summers helping my granfather and uncles load and bring in the hay.

Loading Coastal is much easier than Alfalfa. Thats the real deal. 165 bales is just exercise. We used to do 600-1200 a day. On an 18 wheeler. Those are some high trailers.
