From just a very quick look, it appears that they have a very good defensive team, but are not nearly as explosive offensively as they were last year. Fair statement? Who has seen them play this year?

Thanks eye of the tiger!!!

alanclay, I'm assuming you were in Victoria on Friday...was #49 for Yoakum a stud, or what? LaGrange have any like him on the defensive side?

That was a nerve-wracking game, wasn't it!

Yoakum's #49 is one of the best players in the district (or was)... He Dominates now but if he were playing in '97 and '98 he wouldn't have had a chance in this district, things have changed since then, the kids are getting so small these days!!!

I have to say that Yoakum was an outstanding team all together. Hats off to you Yoakum, nothing but respect here. I have noticed that the teams overal size in that district is getting smaller. Those teams were huge back in the days when WImberley was in that Disrtict.

Jeez, that's a scary thought...lots of big kids on that team.

# 49 (McKinley) was good because of his combination of size, speed, and strength. It's hard to argue with the success that Harrison had on those quick hitters, but after seeing McKinley on his TD run, I got the feeling he could do some damage there too.

I got to play against him twice the last two years. He does not play with the greatest technique, but if the right college comes around, he make one hell of player. In the Giddings game this year, I tried to chop him and I did, but he still got up, jumped up in the air, tipped the pass, and picked it off. He is one hell of an athlete. Colleges are stupid for not picking him up.
