I detest the Dan Patrick show that is on during lunch time...but I love days like today where he is off and Eric K gets to fill in. Today's discussion was, "What are some Sports Man Laws?"

He gave a good example:

- You can't wear the jersey of a former player that is now on a different team...ESPECIALLY if it's a rival team. (i.e. TO's Eagles Jersey, Damon's Red Sox Jersey). You can't wear it to games...to the mall...to sleep in...NEVER!!!

What are some sports man laws that you can think of?

it is all right to root for the arch-rival against another
opponent as long as a victory by them benefits your team.

i.e. Me rooting for Snyder against Wylie the last two years.

I would agree with that...there were a lot of A&M folks who rooted for Texas against USC...even though it didn't benefit them.

However, there are some that wouldn't do it...regardless if it helped them or not.

Don't get me wrong. I felt really dirty afterward. But, the
outcomes made it worth it.:D

"the pat" is ok in team sports (football, baseball, basketball, hockey) but not in anything else in life...at any time!

Don't know where the "pat" originated, probably S.F.. But, I
would disagree with even the 4 major sports deal. Not ever
anywhere is there a reason for one man to give another the "pat".

You don't want to see them giving a hug do you??? That's why there is the pat.

The hug is only reserved for after you win a championship.

It is documented that when San Fran received their first pro sports team, "the pat" was invented.:nerd:

In College: Wearing a former player's professional jersey is allowed at tailgates only. When you are an official part of the crowd in the stadium, the jersey is prohibited. Only the college jersey or other school color is allowed.

(For example: Next year at Texas games, the VY Tennessee Titans jersey will be allowed at any tailgate. But once the game starts, only burnt orange and his UT jersey are acceptable forms of clothing.)

Good one. It's gonna kill me when "Big" Ben Wallace signs with
someone else this off-season.

What if the player made you a fan of the team? I have no care for the Titans, but I'll root for them until Vince leaves them. I think I'm still a true fan, but I'm a fan of the player more than the team.

If you don't give them rules, they don't know how to act. ;)
