TMS offering 500 free tickets to Mavs fans

Texas Motor Speedway has teamed with Academy Sports stores to offer Mavericks fans 500 free tickets to the Dickies 500 Nextel Cup race on Nov. 5.
Mavericks owner Mark Cuban planned to give away 500 tickets to Game 7 of the NBA Finals. Since the series ended in six games, TMS president Eddie Gossage decided to make the offer for the Cup race in the fall.
The ticket giveaway is Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at all 10 Academy stores in Dallas-Fort Worth. A random drawing will determine which fans win 250 pairs of TMS tickets.
There's one requirement to registering for the free tickets: You must wear some type of Mavs apparel.
"I had the pleasure of attending Game 6," Gossage said. "I saw the heartbreak for the fans when the Mavs lost. I kept thinking about those fans with the free tickets to Game 7. The Dickies 500 tickets are very much in demand, so it just seemed like a remedy for the heartbreak."
Here's a list of the 10 area Academy stores:
