Last Minute Airfares

anybody have any suggestions on where to find a fare below the posted rates? I'm trying to book one for a friend from Chicago (either airport) to either Austin or San Antonio for tmrw. Right now his flight comes into Dallas and it would cost $319 or more to change it to Austin or San Antonio. Are there are any good sites where we might find anything cheaper? All of the big name sites have the same rates at this point.

yeah pretty much...it's not a big deal if we can't find one. We just decided at the last minute to go to San Antonio/Austin a day early and go to the Watermelon Thump in Luling tomorrow. We were just planning to drive down to SA on Saturday and head over to Floores that night for Pat Green. Oh well...may just have to stick to our original plans.

i cant remember which site but years ago, you could find "you snooze you lose" fares. i think my dad has used it, but that was several years ago. i wish i remembered the website.

Try the new Killeen airport. I have heard there are some specials there and it is not that far from Austin.

I doubt they will have direct flights in from Chicago though. I'll take a look though.

I don't think you are gonna have much luck. All last minute fares are insane!! Actually the $319 to change the ticket isn't that bad and maybe your best option. ;) Good Luck!

At that high we will just go down to San Antonio on Saturday. He already has a flight back to Dallas for Friday night...

and speaking of gas prices...thank God for Southwest Airlines. I can fly to Lubbock cheaper ($106) than I would pay for gas to get there and back...between $110 and $130 and I get 30 mpg on the highway too!!!

yeah they have good fares with 21 day purchase...but he flew up to Chicago today from Dallas for work and is coming back tomorrow evening.
