Gilmer doesn't even have a "tight end" 90 percent of the time. The QB is in the shotgun, sometimes accompanied by a tailback, and the rest of the eligible receivers spread the field.

There's also a couple of kids from Canyon that should be absolute studs. They had an awesome returning WR and the QB, Anthony Ramos, I believe is 3A's top returning passer. Maybe someone with a Dave Campbell's can confirm it for me.

Bandera QB Brandon Hicks is another All-State candidate.

Liberty-Eylau's Will Middlebrooks is among the top five returning 3A players in the state. On the short list of kids to watch for All-State MVP.

.

There is no returning starting receiver, but yes, ramos is the top passer returning. As good as noack's numbers were, his were even better. He won't have his same targets returning though, but there will be good athletes and he will have success again if they work enough together.

Well we also had about 3000 rushing so he didn't have to pass as much as you guys... y'all flat out aired it out... those stats were something else...

Dason should be listed on the Linebacker list he was all- state last year.

Dishon from Bridge City should put up pretty good numbers at QB. Also, I am expecting big things from junior RB Depauldrick Garrett at WO-S, but his numbers last year were from sporadic opportunities. I'd pencil him in as a top "sleeper."

i am all about the buckeyes and we have some very good athletes in our secondary. but they have much to learn. for anyone that has forgotten (and i sure haven't) we gave up 61 in our last game.

The big strength of the Gobbler defense will be in the linebackers and defensive backs. The key linebacker, Dason Jackson will be back in the saddle of the defense for one more season. Jackson will help anchor potentially the best defensive backfield in Class 3A. Tre Gray, Domingo Ruiz, Ace Slone and Corey Scott will be the starters that should make the big impact plays coming out of that very backfield. The one major factor the Gobblers should and must use to their advantage will be their speed. If they play up to their potential and execute properly, the Gobblers could be in for more than a state championship appearance in 2006.
