Big News From Vermont (not sports)

I know this isn't sports but it is very important. Vermont just sentenced a man to death for murder which is the first death sentence in 50 years in that state.

hmm...whats next? Gov. Perry granting someone a stay of execution?

Wasn't it the Feds that sentenced that guy to death? This is the guy that kidnapped the girl, took her across state lines and executed her while she was praying on the side of the road in NY, right?

I know the State of Vermont added a constitutional amendment back in 1957 that prohibited the death penalty and reduced the sentence of all death row inmates to life in prison. I'm pretty sure they were the first state to do this.

It was a 53 year old grandmother that he killed 6 years ago who was beaten to death and prayed for her life.
