Anyone hear any news of Disney buying land near Katy?

I think the rumor of Disney buying land in Texas has been going on for some time now. Years ago, I heard Disney was looking at land south of Victoria. Doesn't SA have an amusemnt part? I love rollercoasters, and anything else that might scare the *&%# out of me!:D

I heard a rumor this week that Six Flags is planning a theme park for Galveston.

I heard the rumor that it may be in north Houston or Katy. With the annual threats of hurricanes, I don't think they will build near the coast.

.
I would hope someone would invest in the Houston area. I'd love to see a Busch Gardens or Cedar Park like place in that area.
.
Rumors are always around about new parks. Some 20 years ago Corpus was supposed to get a Hershey's theme park but it never materialized.:(

The Disney rumor has been around FOREVER, and it has been all over the state. In the late 80's the rumor was they were looking in East Texas in between Marshall and Longview, then it was North Texas, somewhere near Frisco.

To me Disney prob has done some research into buying land, but prob in alot of states, and I dont think anything has ever even got close to being done.

It wouldnt be a total waste of land. Have you seen the mess that is now Reliant/Astrodome? Gamedays for the Texans are a MESS.
