Harrell will own every Tech/Big 12 passing record by the end of next season.

What are the records for tech and the big12?

Who knows.

However, taking into consideration that Harrell will have TWO years running that offense compared to the ONE year that Kingsbury, Symons, Cumbie and Hodges had.

Kingsbury ran the offense 4 straight years. He started as a true freshmen. Harrell better have 3 REALLY good years to pass Kingsbury's career passing yardage. I hope he does it. I'm a Red Raider through and through!:)

Not all those years were running Leach's offense were they?

I had to look around for the single season passing records. Nobody seems to have a list that's been updated since '01, but unless someone bested B.J. Symons' 2003 season, I'm almost positive that he holds just about every NCAA and Big XII single season record except passing efficiency and TDs. He's 'only' second in TDs.

BJ SYMONS-2003
470-719-22 (65.4%), 52 TDs, 5,833 yds.

Here's what I pulled off of Hickok Sports (http://www.hickoksports.com/history/ncfleads.shtml#passyards). Seems like four or five different sites share this exact info.

Touchdown Passes (Symons is second-52)
54 David Klingler, Houston, 1990
47 Jim McMahon, BYU, 1980
46 Andre Ware, Houston, 1989
41 Ty Detmer, BYU, 1990

Passing Efficiency Rating
178.4 Danny Wuerffel, Florida, 1995
176.9 Jim McMahon, BYU, 1980
175.6 Ty Detmer, BYU, 1989
173.6 Steve Sarkisian, BYU, 1996
173.1 Trent Dilfer, Fresno St., 1993

Passing Yards (Symons is first and it ain't even close- 5,833)
5188 Ty Detmer, BYU, 1990
5140 David Klingler, Houston, 1990
4699 Andre Ware, Houston, 1989
4571 Jim McMahon, BYU, 1980
4560 Ty Detmer, BYU, 1989

Pass Completions (Again, first by a lot- 470)
374 David Klingler, Houston, 1990
365 Andre Ware, Houston, 1989
363 Tim Couch, Kentucky, 1997
361 Ty Detmer, BYU, 1990
338 Robbie Bosco, BYU, 1985

Total Offense Yards (Symons would be first- 5976)
5221 David Klingler, Houston, 1990
5022 Ty Detmer, BYU, 1990
4661 Andre Ware, Houston, 1989
4627 Jim McMahon, BYU, 1980
4433 Ty Detmer, BYU, 1989

Total Offense Per Game (Symons, again, with 498 ypg)
474.6 David Klingler, Houston, 1990
423.7 Andre Ware, Houston, 1989
418.5 Ty Detmer, BYU, 1990
402.6 Mike Maxwell, Nevada, 1995
395.1 Steve Young, BYU, 1983

Interceptions (Symons-22... there's nobody with more than 15?)
14 Al Worley, Washington, 1968
13 George Shaw, Oregon, 1951

And last but not least, I can't imagine anyone with more than 719 attempts. There's your record holder.

Just a bit of info.

There was an article in yesterdays paper stating that Cumbie who was on all rookie team in AFL had signed a contract with the Baltimore Ravens of the NFL.

Noticed on this Last Of QB's Only One was Great. Steve Young is the greatness out of this list, heard of some but none were great only other one who did pretty good for his self was Trent Dilfer Won a Superbowl with the Ravens.

College success doesn't always translate to NFL success. Danny Wuerffel and Andre Ware are widely considered two of the five best college QB's of all time, but both were NFL flops. QB's like Pat Sullivan, Eric Crouch, Ty Detmer, Charlie Ward (who actually played in the NBA for about 10-15 years), and Wuerffel were all Heisman winners who were never anything big in the NFL.

On the flip side, Tom Brady was a less-than-stellar college QB who almost went through his college career as a backup. Fortunately, Drew Henson opted for a baseball career and the Patriots got to see a few flashes of greatness from Brady.

I know what you mean Russ. I was trying to get that point that you got across its just weird how there are so many great College players with these amazing stats who are a bust in the NFL some just get barried in the depth charts some dont have the skills or talent to be great in the NFL.

Oh, I gotcha. You're talking about that Heisman jinx.
