Two days of dominoes and I don't have a clue what they're doing!

Of the last 5 minutes that I watched of the Domino Tournament,here's what I got from it.

You have 4 players (2 teams) with your partner being directly in front of you. Scoring didn't matter or wasn't a factor like in regular dominoes (where you try to score in multiples of 5 points). All they tried to do was be the first team to domino or get rid of all your dominoes. Which is harder than you think? Believe it or not there is alot of strategy and defense to playing dominoes. The first team to domino got a point and the first team to 7 (or was it 6) points wins that set. It was the best out of 3 sets,like in tennis. I will watch it tomorrow if it's on and see for sure.
