otsuka gives up a walk off 3 run blast to big papi. nice pretty fastball after he had him wiffing on sliders. bad thing is, the A's are getting hot and the rangers are off and on.

Well, it IS June. Its about that time.

Interesting stat just flashed up during the Astros game. The Rangers lead the majors in blown saves with 15. The next one is the Royals with 13.

and all I have to say for this year is SCOREBOARD! Looks as though the Astros lead in the Silver (nobody cares but the Ranger fans) Boot Series. :D

either way, the rangers have the better record at the moment, and in my opinion, are better tooled to make it to the post season. They have all the hitting in the world, and the starting pitching and middle relief have been quite good considering. If we could close out some games, then we can be a big time contender. That stat on the 15 blown saves is outrageous. Think about that, cut that number in half, which is where it should be, and the rangers have a huge lead, and would have the record to show for how well 95 percent of the team has played.

Its funny how Astro fans like to downplay thier jealousy by acting like they don't care about being the Champions of Texas

ok has it really gotten so bad in arlington that rangers' fans jsut want a 50% save rate...i thought i was gonna go nuts watching lidge the first month-2 months of the season, if he blew 50% of his saves i'd be throwing the tv out the window....

I think he meant we Rangers fans would have like to have gotten wins in 50% of the blown saves... Not that we would be happy to only save 50% of the games...

HOU is 17 of 24 in save opportunities

Total ERA = 4.64

TEX is 17 of 33 in SVOs...

Total ERA = 4.69

Lidge is 16 of 19 for save opportunities... Otsuka is 11 of 13 for SVOs... Both good numbers.

The problem is Coco Cordero... 5 of 12 in Save situations.... UGGGH.

IMHO, the Rangers got the bats and starting pitching to win the west this year.... but gonna have to sign some Bullpen help to contend. C'mon John Daniels... work something out.
