Congrats to a couple of 3A North Texas kids

Heath Taylor (Bowie) and Dane Carter (Graham) will be playing DI baseball next year after playing at Vernon Junior College for the past two years.
Taylor to Oklahoma and Carter to Texas A&M. Taylor is a pitcher and Carter is expected to compete for the starting SS or 2B job.
Carter set 5 VJC records in his two years and I think he was 5th in steals this year in the nation for JUCO.

As a proud Chapparral Alumnus I'd like to say "Way to go guys, carry on the tradition." I played there under Danny Watkins in the 1995-1996 season. Wonder where that guy is now, last I heard he was an Assistant Coach at Alabama. I loved playing for him and really enjoyed my 2 years in Vernon. Hobie was great too, the college will truly miss him after his many years of service as the AD.
