Former Yoakum standout Alisha Bourgo has signed a letter of intent to play volleyball at Tarleton state University.
Bourgo, a 5-10 junior middle blocker, will transfer from North Central Texas College where she helped lead her team to the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference title this past season.
"Alisha will be an immediate threat for us," Tarleton head coach Mary Domine said on the TexAnns Web site. "She has two years of experience in a solid program. She is a strong outside hitter with tremendous versatility who will bring leadership and a great work ethic."
She was the NTJCAC Player of the Year last season recording 432 kills, 375 digs, 196 blocks and 74 aces.
While in high school she was named her district's MVP in 2002 and 2003 and was the Advocate's All-Area Outstanding Hitter.
Tarleton State competes in the Lone Star Conference and finished the year 2-8 in conference and 16-17 overall.
