I've seen Wylie play three other times and I would say that they played very well tonight. First of all, no errors!!!! They made a couple of great defensive plays. And Taylor pitched the best game I have seen him pitch. The core of the lineup for Fal all hit the ball in the 6th and that was the difference. Cisneros did a great job of coming in and shutting Wylie down.

Angelle could not get it together tonight nor could the Cardinal defense. Angelle gave up 5 runs (3 unearned runs) in 5 innings tonight on just 4 hits but he walked 5 batters and the Cardinals committed 3 errors. Then the relief pitchers came in and they walked 5 more batters.

L-E scored 7 runs on their 5 hits, helped by errors and 10 walks. However, Middlebrooks for L-E was up to the task. Everyone was watching Angelle but Middlebrooks stole the show. He gave up 5 hits and only 1 walk in 7 innings and struck out 8. Kid has some pop on his fastball, has an effective offspeed pitch, and hit the corners and kept the ball low. The 3 runs he gave up were unearned as well as an error started a rally for BC in the third. But other than that inning BC never got a runner to 2nd.

Please inform us where Injured said that Falfurrias and Region 4 was weak in baseball? I think you will find that any of those comments, regardless of who made them, are related towards football. Anybody with much knowledge of baseball would know that Region 4 is VERY good in baseball. I can attest to this personally having played in Corpus my 12 yr old year and going to the state tourney...only to lose 3-2 (maybe it was 4-3) to Spring LL...the year they won the LLWS (after Taiwan played some 40 yr old guys) ;)
