We've played Boerne quite a bit over the last few seasons, and he was always one of their studs.

From what I read in Baseball America, Walden was projected as the top pitching prospect in Texas coming into this year.
He hit like 96 or 97 last summer in the AFLAC games and since then he hasn't been as consistent with the fastball. He also was a little erratic during games this year which they say also caused his stock to drop..... and boy did it drop.

Yea, Midland High got 6 or 7 hits off him and he walked 4 or 5 batters when they beat Walden 5-2 a couple of weeks ago.

Where did the great pitcher from Columbus(Taylor Janik) get drafted?

Why don't they just wait until after the college season is over so players can declare for the draft instead of having so many picks and most of them not even signing?

Why did Taylor (Janak) get thrown into this? Im sure he is going to be drafted right after Buenger from Bellville. By the way, has Buenger signed on with anyone after A&M cut him? Good thing he sat out of pitching for 2 years so he could play for the beloved Aggies.

Better than the NFL draft where they have 10+ minutes.

XMan, I seem to remember discussions on this board, probably started by you, that said Janek should have been the MVP last year and was as good as Luetge. For those that have seen the two pitch, it was obvious that Luetge was on a different level than Janek, which is supported by their draft position or non-draft position.

since you just have to keep bringing this up here goes. It seems that since bellville had this highly touted, twice drafted pitcher, that they would have thrown him against lowly Columbus. Instead, Bellville was scared to do so and pitched him against Hempstead and Rice and the like. The higher he is drafted the better my case looks. Fact is, even with a great lefty Bellville conceded to Columbus although none of Columbus's players were drafted. In the old days the Brahmas would not back down to anyone. These days the Brahmas look to be a bunch of daddy ball, city select ball playing sissies. Makes me embarrassed to have been a Brahma.

x u need to get your facts right. Like i said before they only had one pitcher (Luetge). Either he could have pitched against Navisota Rice and Sealy and lost the Columbus games and still made it to the playoffs, or we could have pitched him against Columbus and Hempstead and lost the other games and not make it to playoffs. If yall were the coach tell me what yall would have done. And u said that he pitched against Hempstead but he never did.

This may be of some interest to Austin County baseball fans. The Chicago Cubs drafted Donnie Walters a RHP from Richland College, TX. His grandmother works for the Austin County sheriffs dept. and lives in the Cat Spring area. His grandfather, deceased, was one of the better athletes from this area. He was Paul Schroeder from Sealy. He was related to all of the Schroeders as well at the Stecks in Bellville. And most of the Stecks were pretty good Bellville athletes.

Yes, but I believe that Billy may have been the best of the Steck Baseball players. He was also a good football player in high school, a running back, scored 40 points against Sealy one night. Another brother Marcus was above average as well. I think Billy may have gotten drafted and played a bit of organized ball.
