This sounds like a thriller, Decatur either won in overtime or in the last minute of regulation. Awaiting the Chief's report!!

Just got home.....leave at 5 am for work. This was the worst game I think I have seen Decatur play in 5 years. Credit to the Lobos...they came out hard and steady. We tried to rest some folks...maybe runing the score up is not such a bad idea after all.

Must have been something after last week that made Decatur and Bridgeport both flat.

Well, at least Decatur could manage a "W" out of it...

Decatur had two punts in the 4th quarter, 1 of 5 yds the other of -6 yds that aided Little Elm in scoring 2 late touchdowns. They were up 17 going into the 4th so I guess that wasn't enough points to be to comfortable with huh. Great job pulling it out Decatur, it's always tough to get up after a big win.

Well a little wind makes things intresting. 1st qtr LE has the wind, drive for a score. Decatur goes 80 yards in one play to tie the game. LE end the qtr driving.
2nd qtr LE against the wind, Decatur defense hold them, so LE kicks a 39 yard FG against the wind (nice leg there buddy). Decatur has the wind and the advantage.....turns the ball over on the following kick off. Defense holds, LE punts. Eagles are trying to rest some starters during this game...2nd string RB fumbles. Defense holds again. Decatur drives down to red zone, gets FG game tied. After kick off Defence holds again, we fumble the punt, LE recovers. After thier drive stalls, Decatur gets the ball and drives to the end zone....last play (we thought) ends in a incomplete pass for TD, but this was due to pass interference. Ealges have the ball on the 2 following the penalty. Instead of taking a FG for the lead Eagles go for TD. Like the confidence in the O, but attempt failed and at half score is tied. Thsi later puts tremendous pressure on the Offense
3rd qtr- Decatur has the wind and puts up two TDs and seems to be taking control. Defence holds LE to hardly anything.
4th qtr, LE has the wind. Decatur scores first completing the last drive from 3rd qtr with a FG against the wind. Decatur up by 17. Then the wheels come off. LE drives for TD. Kickoff into endzone, but sophmore RB brings it out....Decatur drops a key first down pass, forced to punt. Kick is shanked, and nets a - 5 yards. LE takes over on the Decatur 7 yard line. Eagle D holds, LE kicks field goal. On kick off to the goal line, sophmore RB heitates not sure if in endzone the too late decides to run. Eagle offence penalties prevent a first down, punt again. This time it is a beautiful 12 yard punt. Loboes start on Eagle 17 yard line. They score in two plays, game tied. Following kick off the return is a little better but only 1:52 left to play. Eagles drive 78 yards and score with 16 seconds left.

Offence- Other than the one fumble, they did fairly well considering that with the wind in the first half they only had the ball 1 time. Dane threw for 384 yards...now has over 2200 yards on the year. Some of our injuries did raise their heads tonight. We did miss those guys.

Defense- did a lot better than the score indicates. LE started twice in the Decatur red zone and got 10 of thier 27 points from it.

Special teams...almost gave away the game.

Lesson: maybe being up three scores is not safe. I will not consider it running up the score untill after 4 scores up with less than a quarter to play.
