Thanks injured. Do you know how Decaturscored their two runs? I hope not by errors again.

I just turned the game one. Decatur has the bases juiced with no outs in bottom of 2nd.

I'm guessing it's Brent Jones pitching for Decatur and Michael Strong pitching for Wylie?

Decatur scores one run after a throwing error with two outs and the bases loaded.

after 2 innings...

Yeah strong is on the mound and i think it is Jones for the Eagles.

Jones did not have a good game vs Iowa Park. They lit him up. But I saw him pitch in Snyder and he was on that day.

Wylie ties it up in the top of the 3rd. Chase Davis Doubled off the bottom of the centerfield wall. Blake Lemen brings him around with a single. Lemen steals 2nd and goes to 3rd on Spencer Davis's long fly ball.

2 outs. Joey Reynolds draws a walk to put runners on the corners.

Stetson Taylor at the plate with two outs.

Stetson hit the ball past the short stop to score Lemen.

Wylie 4-3

Decatur coach to the mound.

Still top of third.

Side note time....
I didnt know that Clay Martin has been at Wylie as the head baseball coach for 13 yrs. He is also a great defensive coordinator.

Top of the 4th Decatur uses 3 pitchers and gives up 3 runs with no Wylie hits. Walks were the theme.

Wylie 7
Decatur 3

in the bottom of the 4th inning Wylie has yet another thowing error that allows two Decatur runs to score with one out.

7-7 Decatur still batting in the bottom of the 4th inning. Jones hit a triple to tie it up. Two outs. Chase Davis pitching for Wylie.

Wylie finally escapes the inning.

Time for the top of the 5th.

Was away from the radio for a little bit and Wylie now leads 14-7. Decatur is inserting their 5th pitcher of the afternoon. I would love to say that the game is over but the way Wylie commits errors this game is far from over.

I'd love for there to be a game 3. These two teams seem to be the two most potent offensive teams left in 3A this year. I'd give the overall nod to Bridge City at this point, but a great offense that gets the bats hot at the right time can do some damage at state.

Wow...Are they going to have any pitchers left for a game three?

None of those pitchers for Decatur are in the top 3 except for Jones. Oates, Jones, and Cangley are their top 3 pitchers. I would guess they are gonna throw Oates for game 3? What about the Dogs? Will their ace throw again?

GWOOD

I don't see how they will start Oates. They may. He threw 126 pitches just two days ago. I could see him coming in to relieve. I would guess they go with Cangley.

what a great couple of games ... glad i made the drive.

wylie played much better ... really got the bats going in the second game. third game was tense ... coming from behind is not the way i like to win a game!!

on to state ... the one thing that really concerns me is that we will only play one game ... i really wish the state tournament was best of three ... game one on wednesday, two/three on thursday ... finals game one on friday, two/three on saturday ... oh well, guess i can't change that ...

good luck to the wylie bulldogs. i won't be able to make it to state because i'm leaving monday to go to california until august but my parents will be there!!!

go get em dawgs!!!
