Our girls basketball coach here at Wharton, Ben Willey, lost his wife to cancer this past weekend. She was diagnosed last summer and was not expected to make it to this past Thanksgiving. She made it her goal to make it to Christmas and she did! They got enough of the cancer gone so that she could come home after the new year, but as normally the case is the cancer came back this spring and she passed early Sunday morning. A memorial service was held tonight in Wharton and the family will head back to Illinois for burial this weekend. Please keep Coach Willey, his two adult daugters and the rest of the family in your prayers as they go through this difficult time.
