Abilene Wylie vs. Decatur

I have stuck with the Eagles as my pick in Region I, can't change now. Good pitching, they've got some playoff experience, this is their year to make it to Austin.

I think it will be a good series. Wylie will have to come out pitching well and cut out the errors. If we do those things I think Wylie will stay calm enough for the batting to go well ... seems to me they get very frustrated when pitching is off or errors and then batting goes way down hill from there.

but yea ... should be a great series. not only to determine the region I state team, but also having a huge impact on the lone star cup. will be a good one. i'll be at all games.

Yea, errors have been a big problem for Wylie. 7 in the two games with West and 5 in the two games with Clyde. That will come back to bite you this far in the playoffs.

Decatur only made 1 error in two games with Snyder.

I would give Decatur a slight edge in pitching and team speed. I would give Wylie a definite edge in hitting. Decatur starts six seniors out of 10 (1 senior plays defense and does not bat.)

I voted Wylie, but this one is really too close to call. It'll come down to the best pitching and fewest mistakes in games 2 & 3. Game 1 is a pure toss up. The right hit at the right time will be the difference.

I give game 1 to Decatur because of their pitcher. Games 2 and 3 could go to Wylie as I think their hitting is better than Decatur.
