Why does Sodom get the bad name?

I mean I was sitting in church talking with another guy and all you ever hear about is Sodomy, why is Sodom getting left with the bad reputation? The Bible says two cities were destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. Which led us to wonder is there such thing as Gomorry? And if there is what is it?

I think since Sodom was destroyed by God for homosexuality and other sexual depravities they use the word Sodom to describe some sexually oriented crimes because gomoory just sounds goofy...

And since Sodom was the home of Lot and his family it is the most recognizable name of the two.

Actually Sodom was destroyed for more reasons than being immoral.

Ezekiel 16:49-50 Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had arrogance, abundant food, and careless ease, but she did not help the poor and needy. Thus they were haughty and committed abominations before Me. Therefore I removed them when I saw it.

So they were destoryed not for just being immoral, but for not having compassion, not sharing their food and surplus goods with those in need, and for being arrogant (Meaning they thought they did not need God).

I just dont think its fair that Gomorrah gets destroyed all the dame like Sodom, but Sodom is marked throughout the rest of history by the term Sodomy refering to homosexual sin, and Gomorrah gets forgotten about. I think we should make a definition for the word Gomorry

I think Sodom was a 3A school town while Gomorrah was a 1A or 2A and they were in Region 3 so they didnt get much hype on the Bibilcal web site.:)
