A form of this thread has been put up a couple of times, but I always get a "kicK" out of reading everybody's perceptions of the meanings for "slang" words. List a "slang" term (clean ones only, of course) and see what definitions are provided by your fellow posters for it's meaning. Texas "slang" is especially fun and popular to explore. Football "slang" is great, also.

O.k......."caddywampus"?

lol 44INAR. I know this thread will probably "tempt" many in that regard.

"hootus" is a synonym for "thingy"......and as you pointed out, 44', there are those "other" definitions, too. :D

That's one of Jetrho Bodine's arithmetic terms. Example: 2 guzzinta 8, 4 times; 4 guzzinta 16, 4 times; 5 guzzinta 25, 5 times.

Wow, sixth-grade education.

That's one I'm familiar with---"guzzinta"= synonym for "division" as in, "2" guzzinta (goes-into) "4" two times.

"alligator arms"

I have heard that used in basketball when someone made a particularly bad shot that didn't make it to the basket....but I wasn't real sure WHY the coach said it!!
