They are having the Super Regionals in NCAA women's softball this week. 16 teams will compete in 2 out of 3 games with the 8 winners advancing to the finals at Oklahoma City. UT is playing Washington and all three games (if necessary) will be on tv. The first game is this Friday at 7:30 P.M. on ESPN. The second game will be Saturday at 4 P.M. on ESPN and the third game will be at 9 P.M. Saturday on ESPN2 if it is needed. The seven other matches will be:
Florida State vs Arizona State
South Florida vs UCLA
Michigan vs Tennessee
Stanford vs Alabama
Massasschusetts vs Northwestern
California vs Oregon State
LSU vs Arizona
These should all be great matches and anything can happen and all the winners should compete well in the finals. Of the above the most interesting one to me is the Michigan vs Tennessee match. Both these teams were in the final 8 last year and both have good pitching and Michigan has great hitters. Michigan is also the defending champion so until they are eliminated they are extremely dangerous and capable of winning it all as is UCLA. All the teams have very good pitchers so whoever gets the hits should win. UT has a great shot and has the best pitcher of all the teams but so muchy depends on their hitting and scoring the runs needed to win. We will see. Go Lady Horns!
