DALLAS - Texas A&M's Cody Wallace has been named to the 2006 Rimington Trophy Watch List, the Boomer Esiason Foundation announced this week.
Wallace, a junior center from Cuero, earned All-Big 12 honorable mention last year in his first season as a starter. The 6-foot-4, 296-pound Wallace starter all 11 games for the Aggies, who rushed for 234.9 yards per game and rolled up 4,865 yards of total offense.
Wallace was one of eight Big 12 players named to the watch list for the Rimington Trophy. The award is presented each year to college football's best center, as determined by a consensus of four All-America teams: The Walter Camp Football Foundation, American Football Coaches Association, Football Writers Association of America, and The Sporting News.
