Of course we are talking about Sinton vs. West Columbia softball teams playing for the region title. Good jobs by both teams getting through a decent region four.

Columbia's team is young once again but experienced as they come. Dont know if it is a series or one game. They have two good pitchers and they can all hit the ball. Bonner is going to go yard!!! Columbia goes to state.

i am willing to bet the game is played in Port Lavaca...

and Im pretty sure WC wants a series and Sinton wants 1 game.

of course this is pure speculation....

but my money is on the WC team, 1 game or a series.

Why would Sinton want just one game when they have at least two excellent pitchers? When the Caller-Times published the season bests at the end of the regular season, Sinton had both pitchers in the top ten in the area all classes as well as four batters in the top twenty.

I'll bet Port Lavaca will be the venue. The last time Sinton SB played a Dist 25 rep. (Sweeney) in the 99 Region 4 Finals it was in PL (Sinton won 3-1 to advance to state for the first time). If history has anything to do with it?????

Well there you go, If it were up to us it would be a done deal.
Our 2 aces against yours in a best of 3 series.

(once again, dont be surprised if there is a coin flip for series vs one game. like I said, WC wants a series, and I have heard rumors Sinton wants one, maybe due to graduation or what-not)

Our kids have 1/2 a day of school on Friday and graduation is that night so I don't see how a best of 3 series could be played. :confused: It's too bad the girls don't have the same option as the boys to play a best of 3 series Thurs-Sat. :(

Oh well...you don't get a best of 3 series at State may as well roll the dice!! :clap:

The only thing is there may be graduation conflicts so a series may not be feasable depending on what night the two schools have graduation. A one time Wednesday night game wouldn't surprise me. That is what happened several years ago when Riflearm was playing for us. We played George West and they had graduation on Thursday and we had it on Friday and so they played Wednesday night one game since they didn't want to take a chance on bad weather Saturday.

Our graduation is on Friday. (we will lose 2 to graduation)

and good point about State being a 1 game format.

I find it kind of interesting that we could end up with the same two schools playing next week in the regional baseball finals.

It's happening with Wylie and Clyde as the boys played last week (regional quarters) in baseball and the girls meet this week (regional finals) in softball. Very interesting stuff...
