While MLB continues its high-priced trades and deals, Minor League plays in an altogether different world. Two weeks ago, a pitcher was traded to the Fullerton Flyers – an independent team that begins play in June – for 60 cases of beer.
The weirdest deal in baseball? Not necessarily. In 1998, the Pacific Suns of the Western League sent pitcher Ken Krahenbuhl to the Greenville Bluesmen for 10 pounds of catfish. By the way, in his first game for Greenville, Krahenbuhl pitched a perfect game. Play ball!
