In the Men's Track and Field after the first day Texas leads 50 points followed by Missouri with 44 points and Texas A&M is nineth with 12 points.

In the Women's Track and Field after the first day it is a surprise that Nebraska leads with 48 fllowed by Kansas State at 40 and Texas at 29 while Texas A&M is in 7th place with 15. The surprise is that Texas is behind but remember last year out women lost the Big 12 but won the National Championship.

Two State Farm Lone Star Showdown points are at stake here between the Horns and Aggies.

True but there still are two points left in these two sports.

But no one cares once it's over with. Actually, no one really cares when it's going on. Phil, you're the only person I've seen get excited about the Lone Star Showdown. But I appreciate that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And Nebraska leading isn't a surprise. Texas still has the relays to run. The majority of the running finals are tomorrow.

UT wins both Men and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championwships! Great news indeed especially with the news about Taylor. The UT Women won with 131 points while the Lady Aggies got 111 points for second place. The UT Men won with 135 points while the Aggies got sixth place with 73 points.

This means that UT got both of the SFLSS points.

Way to go Horns!

A DQ on the 400-relay cost the Aggie Men 3rd place.

Phil, what year did you graduate from UT? Who were some of the superstars of the time?

Unfortunately due to financial circumstances at the time I was unable to go to UT but had to go more local. I still remained a fan though and I got to speak for a UT sponsored event last week. I would have been there in the 1967 to 1971 era which would have been the Steve Worster, James Street, Bill Bradley, Chris Gilbert, Cotton Speyer years though. It would have been especially great to have been able to go there in the 1969 National Championship year.

That would of been cool to be there in '69, especially since it wasnt as big of a place or as commerialized as sports are now....feeling like it would of been more glorified for a football championship and not trying to see how much money can come out of it........

He won the 100 and didn't start in the 200 because of a minor injury. But since he's already qualified for Regionals in the 200, it's not a big deal.
