If the humility of a two-error, 0-for-3 night in a 14-3 pummeling at the hands of the rival Red Sox wasn't enough for Alex Rodriguez to overcome, now he has drawn the wrath of the Boss himself.

George Steinbrenner stormed out of Yankee Stadium during the eighth inning of Tuesday's ugly loss to the Red Sox, and quick to point fingers at the $250 million third baseman, the New York Post reported.

When asked what he thought of the game, the New York Post reports the distraught Steinbrenner jabbed his finger at reporters and said, "What did you think?"

"I'm upset at a lot of them," Steinbrenner said, and continued without being solicited, "the third baseman."

Of course, Steinbrenner was referring to Rodriguez, who has been criticized this year for his lack of clutch hitting. In Tuesday's big loss to the first-place Red Sox, Rodriguez grounded out, flied out and hit into a double play in three at-bats. On the season, Rodriguez is hitting just .259 with six home runs and 24 RBIs.

"Overall we just had an awful game. I had a real bad game," Rodriguez said after the game.

Rodriguez wasn't the only player to face criticism. Starting pitcher Randy Johnson was roughed up for seven runs over just 3 2/3 innings. Johnson was booed loudly and often by the sellout crowd of 54,688.
