Go to music stores and play 'em if you have any around...

Ibanez are good, Fender of course, have played those and they have a really good feel to them...

But if you wanna be like Metallica you'll have to get yourself an ESP or a Jackson (think that's what they used to play)...

PRS - If it's good enough for Carlos, it's good enough for you. Oops, forgot about the cost limit....:)

try to find a cheap dean MLX and invest a couple hundred in a dimebucker and a seymour duncan for the neck pickup it will come out to about 700 dollars and it will kick a$$

If you want the melodyless sound of the likes of korn and slipknot....then go with like an ESP or another Ibanez.

If you want the shredding 80's metal.....then get a Jackson Rhandy Rhoads (rip)...there are several price levels of that guitar.

Also.....if there is a body style that you just really really like. You can always get that and buy some ESP Zakk Wyld humbuckers and get those put in...it might be a little more expensive that way. But it gives you what you want.

id have to agree with you. those are some of the best made guitars in the world. but if you want an axe that has the exact same quality for a little cheaper price you should go with any of the jackson models. some of the best musicians in the world shred on them. NOTHING I MEAN NOTHING IS BETTER THAN A JACKSON

find a cheap dean. maybe a dime signature. Jacksons are bad. I'm an ibanez man myself.
