A home and home series with former Southwest Conference rival Arkansas headlines a group of future football match-ups that The University of Texas announced Monday. The Longhorns will host the Razorbacks on Sept. 13, 2008 and make a return visit to Fayetteville on Sept. 12, 2009.

After meeting 65 times as SWC foes from 1915 to 1991, Texas and Arkansas met for the first time in eight years at the 1999 Cotton Bowl and then matched-up in a home and home series in 2003-2004. Texas holds a 55-21 advantage in the series that began in 1894.

The Longhorns also announced a home and home series with UTEP for the 2008-09 seasons. UT will travel to El Paso on Sept. 6, 2008 and the Miners are scheduled to visit Austin on Sept. 26, 2009. Texas and UTEP have never squared off on the gridiron.

Texas filled a non-conference date for 2007 with a home meeting against former SWC opponent TCU on Sept. 8. UT and TCU have not played since the final year of the SWC in 1995, but they have met 81 times in a series dating back to 1897. The Horns have won 60 of those contests.

UT also agreed to a three game series with the University of Central Florida in 2007, 2009 and 2011. Texas is scheduled to travel to UCF on Sept. 15, 2007 while the Golden Knights will visit Austin on Sept. 19, 2009 and Sept. 26, 2011. UT and UCF have never played.

The Longhorns had previously announced a home and home series with UCLA in 2010 and 2011 and extended its series with Rice to include games in Houston in 2010 and Austin in 2011 and 2013.
