OK Wylie, can we just have one?

Well, here we are again, the playoffs of another sport. As a senior, I have seen my school's athletic seasons spoiled by the bulldogs several times over the past two seasons:

Last year:
Football, baseball

This year:
Football, boys basketball, softball, tennis, and they did better in track.

This weekend could mark another letdown, or a milestone. ( yes wylie fans, you guys have become a hot topic around town, so it is a big deal) Wylie will come in the heavy favorite, rightfully so, but for those of you who like a good underdog story, well, let's hope for the best. ;)

also don't forget tennis ... we ruined canyon's hopes a couple of times ... 4 out of the last 5 years wylie won state

hey...im starting to like this rivalry..its only a good one with both teams involved are top teams year in and year out..good luck to both teams in baseball!!

It's like Yankees/Red Sox...it's great competition but it only becomes a rivalry once both teams win in the crunch time. Canyon has good teams in a lot of sports though...so they will win one of these matchups soon enough. Good luck to both teams and another great contest.

All 3 games will be played in Snyder, the first one is Friday at 7:00.

If the games are in SNyder this could be an advantage for Canyon Wylie does not play well in SNyder

No I knew that going back to Wylie has not had as much success here in the past couple of years. Lost a Dist baseball game, lost Girls Basketball game. Just saying that Wylie does not play as well in Snyder. Just my take

and who can forget the case of fumblitis from last fall. That being said though, before this season Wylie has had a lot of success in Snyder in many sports...this year not so much though.

The games are for sure in Snyder Friday at 7:00 and Saturday starting at 1:00.

well a few years ago we ousted wylie in snyder for the regional championship. Then last year wylie ousted us there in the second round. Sooo if the pattern continues....:thinking: I saw wylie play at the snyder tourney, they are solid all around, lots of lefties that pitch, and good hitting. I think their best pitcher is the spencer kid if I'm right, tall lefty with a really big glove.

I would not bet the farm the game is at 7:00 PM @ SNyder. Maybe at 1:00 PM

I heard Snyder was playing on Thursday in Snyder and Saturday they will be playing in Perryton.

and yes thats the kid lol with the big glove...he was our only lefty pitcher when i was a sr and he was a soph.

Yes, a heck of a drive and the field is not even close to being comparable to Snyder! Don't expect to be welcomed with open arms from the students, they are ruthless!! But since this is the playoffs, they may be on their best behaviour.

No, haven't heard anything today. Might hear something later tonight. Perryton is 2 hours from Canyon, and Canyon is a little over 3 hours from Snyder. That would be crazy to play in Snyder on Friday and then turn around and drive for 5-6 hours to play in Perryton on Saturday. But I'm sure crazier things have happened!!

Ok ok, here's what's going on. Snyder and Perryton can't play becuase perryton would have to miss school to make it down on thursday, and the rules state you can't miss school on thurs. for travel. So they bumped us out of snyder. As of the end of practice, the game will either be played at ACU, some other nice field in abiliene, or in Plainview at the high school. Negotiations have been reopened, and there will be another flip most likely.

thanks for the info...to much information out of to many post lol...i rather read a paragraph from one post gahhh...any way acu(crutcher scott) field is very nice so is mc murry and hardin simmons....my guess would be hardin simmons field...but thats just my guess

I think playing in any town with a college is going to be a problem because of graduation, it will probably be a problem for the out of towners finding a place to stay without having to drive some distance.:confused:

this could definitely cause problems...ESPECIALLY at HSU's field. Now if they played Friday evening, and then started game 2 @ say 4 on Saturday (yeah it leaves a long drive back to Canyon) then they would be ok at HSU because the last graduation will end about 3PM.

I know Clyde won their flip to play in Abilene and Their opponent cannot find a hotel in abilene at all for the 3 game series.

We could put up a couple of guys at our house. We used to do it for church groups all the time and for the FCA football game as well. We're about 20 minutes from the any of the college fields.

This is the word that we are getting now. Canyon and Abilene Wylie will play at Moffett field at 1:00 on Friday, not sure what time Saturday, but we heard probably 1:00. Hopefully everyone kept their rooms in Snyder. Of course all this could change by the time morning rolls around!!

There is a really good little league field over in Rotan that yall could play on! :eek: That short fence would make for some exciting baseball! ;)

I think they would have to pass on that, although they (Canyon) have played on some pretty bad fields in the past. I think I would rather see a real baseball game, not a home run derby!! At least this arrangement we can stick around and watch Snyder play Perryton.

Yes this is legit. 1:00 Friday, same time saturday. Now we get to leave a day early and stay the night, which is nice.
