Navasota-Hutto suspended due to lightning

ROCKDALE - The first game of the Class 3A bi-district baseball playoff series between Navasota and Hutto was suspended because of lightning with Hutto leading, 4-0, in the bottom of the sixth inning Thursday night.

The series opener will resume at Rockdale on Friday at 3 p.m.

Game 2 is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Friday. If a third game is needed, it will begin 30 minutes after Game 2.

Navasota is the visiting team in Game 1. The Rattlers will need at least four runs in the top of the seventh to stay alive in the opener.

TEXDAD,

Was that a one game playoff or just Game 1 of the series?

Whoops! For some reason I thought Vernon was in instead of Graham. Cameron Crazy I thought you were just trying to be funny! (As you usually are)

No disrespect intended for Graham. I don't want any bulletin board material from me when we play you guys in football next Fall.

PilotPoint 11 8 2
Breckenridge 6 5 1

WP – John Grumbles. LP – Jeremy Heatly. 2B – BREC: Josh Seal 1.

11 runs on 8 hits and 1 error. There had to be some walks and/or hit batters in there.

Little Cypress-Mauriceville - 5
Bridge City - 1

#4 in 4a vs. #1 in 3a

How many innings did Heatley pitch?

Was it a 1 or 3 game series? Well, either way, if PP plays like that again against a guy who's not Breck's best pitcher, then it might be over. But who knows. . .

GWOOD, First game of 3 game series. They play tonight at 7 at Alamo Heights in San Antonio. Just found out they had too much rain, looking for another site.

Pilot Point 11
Breck 6

Heatley was replaced in the 7th inning
PP scored 6 in the 6th and 5 in the 7th

Looks like Breck wasn't and isn't as invincible as some might think

PP record is just 14 - 10

Tough preseason and non-district schedules do pay off or hurt

"Corny" to say but, everybody has some "homer" in them and always thinks their team is one of the best---no shame in that---just part of HS athletics, and part of the fun, along with the taste of "crow" if you talk some "trash" about your team. I agree about the "toughness" that teams achieve by playing a tough schedule. Always great to see those teams win a game that nobody expects them to win.
