You can't rank them like this...I'm sure Skye Green didn't run into a 30 mph head wind!

It doesnt matter how or if you rank them at all. They will all line up on the same track with the same conditions in a couple of weeks anyway, and it will all be settled. But mark my words, if Skye is at his best, I believe he will win it! I just wish he were able to run the 200m also, because I believe he would win it also. Maybe the coaches will wise up next year.

Stefon Hargrove and Tre Gray ran the 100M for Cuero at District..I think the talk has mostly been "what ifs"......
The only chance I see a matchup of Brandon and Skye is on the anchor leg of the sprint relay

Team Player - Gobblers want the team Championship again and Brandon running on both Relays gives them the best chance at that happening . Should be better conditions in Austin no 30 mph winds over there .;)

No he ran the 200m at Distric and Hargrove ran the 100 10.45 .

How good would Cuero's 4x400 be if James anchored that too?

Is it possible for the gobblers to sweep all 3 relays?

Since the meet was in odessa 30mph is a good bet.

Sky Ran a legit 10.5 FAT and with not much wind either way. Fast time and should take 1st or 2nd in Austin

Since the meet was in odessa 30mph is a good bet.

The wind on Saturday was blowing pretty hard, I checked the NWS website and the wind was blowing from the NW with Gusts to 30 MPH most of the day. I am not sure what that relates to the track conditions (direction of the start/finish lines).

I aggree with StangRed about 2 weeks from now, the wind will be the same for everyone.

Good luck to everyone at the State
Meet and hope everyone brings their best game!!!

don't think so. They would have to improve 4X400 relay time by 5-6 seconds to beat Hempstead.
They are good bet in the other two relays though.

There is really no way the will sweep the relays. They have a great chance at winning the sprint and 800 relay but i really doubt they will win the mile relay.

It appears to me, that the starter post listed the state qualifiers in numerical order, by region, rather than by time.

If the flag judges would have been doing there job the Cuero boys would have been DQ in the 4x100 in the prelims on the 2nd exchange. It was not even close at least 2 meters out of the exchange zone.......they were not the only ones either. One coach was going to protest but some group of coaches told him how can you win??? No way to figure it out...At least 3 coaches from different schools saw this...
When you have kids in a track class judging things like this usually happens. They had no clue what they are doing...O-Well way in goes good luck anywayv Gobblers..

i have no idea what Hempstead runs, but i have heard that the James kid has run a 45 or 46 sec split on the mile relay earlier this year.....i dont know if it is true, but if it is....the gobblers could drop their time to sub 3:20....i would think.

I personally dont think that they would take the kid out of his individual race, but I was just thinking that it could be an option.

with the times that kids are running in other regions....state will not be a gimmie for the Gobblers.

BTW...after reallignment takes away some speed from region 4 (Sweeny, West Columbia, Wharton) how many points will the Gobblers score at regionals next year....225 or so could be possible.

we decided that those kids running the events probably were the ones that ditch class and needed extra credit.

Regardless of the time these young men have run, they will have to repeat it. Their previous times don't even have a bearing on lane assignments at the state meet. Since Skye has aready won, we may as well stay at the house. The 100 meters will be a very competitive race, but you can't eliminate any of these competitors. If you focuse on certain people, you may miss the eventual winner. Skye better bring his best shoes. Not only in the 100 meters, but also in the 4x100 relay. If his other 3 guys don't get him the lead, he WILLBE very disappointed in the end. Now, you take that any kind of way you want to. It takes four(4) legs to complete the relay. They better run better than 42 something, or they won't get to see any show down. At least not with them being involved. Good luck in Austin.

Another thing, Why do people always bring up the wind, That's the way it is in track and field, it's always been like that and it always will, get over it, some weeks it helps your time and other weeks it hurts your time. The people who actually run track understand this, so they just go out to win their race no matter what the wind is doing. WITH NO EXCUSES!

I hate to say it, but Dallas Madison will win the 4x1. They beat Atlanta with an alternate on it. Their scratch leg got injured and they just threw a guy on it. Worked on it on before the finals, barely could get a handoff, then came out and beat everyone...absolutely amazing. Also, Shawnbrey McNeal will win the 100, and don't count out the Gray kid from Kenedale out for second.

Green Is a Legit 10.5 Fully Automatic Time. That equals about 10.3 Hand time. I dont believe anyone else in this race is quite that fast... I guess you folks in South and East Texas will just have to wait and see. The race is not done yet. Someone can Jump and get DQed... But unless that happens then Green should win this one considering Times up to this point.

I looked at the UIL scedule and noticed that the discus isn't even scheduled til 4:30...so I don't think we are gonna even show up til then! Then we will watch the races for 2A and 4A....and be there bright and early Saturday morning!

Apparently none of you from regions I, II & IV have seen the Hempstead guys run or jump, otherwise you wouldn't be taking them lightly. Just might be that you will remember the names Tate, Van Duren and Toliver after the state meet. They will be ready and give you a good run. No boasting they will win but I bet no one in region III will count them out before the gun goes off. Get your boys ready because the Bobcats will make their presence known.

I certainly can't speak for anyone but myself, but I am pretty sure that the Hempstead track team has the respect and full attention of the Gobblers and I'd be willing to bet of the other teams as well.. It's just that Cuero and Sweetwater were literally neck and neck last year and it's become a "friendly" :) battle between the two. No disrespect to any other teams at all.

Well said, I know I have been keeping up with every Region in 3A since track began, We were looking forward to running against Chris Tate at the Texas Relays ,but he DNS for the 100. You guys have our upmost respect, we are just having some fun amongst ourselves from last years State Meet.Of course, We are not as fortunate as Cuero to have a stack team year in and year out,so this year We will not be competing for the title like we were last year, but it will still be fun competing in the 4x100,and 100m. Good Luck to all the schools there!

Oh, ok. Maybe next year we can join in on the rivalry. VanDuren will be about the only loss off the team, but he will be a huge loss.
Hope everyone gets a good start and the handoffs are clean so the running can determine the winners. Will be fun.
