Bellville is to play LaGrange first round of the playoffs next week. Any thoughts on this one? Does LaGrange have any all-stars?

OIC, well good luck. I think La Grange got third in district. Not as good as they have been. Ace pitcher is probably Supak.

Ya thats what I heard. Do they have anyone else to note on?

I'm sure they have a couple of players from the state team a year or so back. I'll watch the game friday cause they're coming to town I believe and I will let you know somethin.

I think LG takes this round, if defense does not let them down,LG came from a very tough District. Supak and Leer will be hard to beat also Hrbacek is coming on as of lately. 3 pretty solid pitchers with Nieser to close. But it will still be hard to beat Bellville, coaching may play a big part of outcome. Then I would give the advantage to Bellville.

DONT COUNT OUT THE BULLS THEY HAVE STRONG PITCHING IN THEIR 2 SENIORS AND THEY ALSO HAVE A COUPLE TALENTED FRESHMAN WHO CAN HOLD THEIR OWN IF CALLED UPON. I BELIEVE DEFENSE WILL WIN THIS SERIES

Tiger, what did you think about the Leps?

They hit the ball very well and they can make tough catches look easy. They were playing ine a 20 or so mph wind and they made the catches on the high floaters very well even with a lot of movement from the ball. Pitching was decent.

Well I guess time did tell and it told that the Brahmas never admit defeat as they win the first of three hard fought games 7-6

Going into to 7th the Leps had the lead 3-2, they scored 3 more it was 6-2 with 3 outs to go. Bellville not giving up scored 4 in the bottom of the 7th to tie the game. Bellville scored the winning run in the 8th of a sac fly by Hollon to win the game. Also great night at the plate for Bellvilles SS Porter going 4-5 with a hit to score 2 in the 7th to tie the game.
Good job Bellville!!!!!!

Great pitching dual til the last inning, both pitcher's found their grove after the first inning. Both pitcher's worn down in the 7th inning, error's killed La Grange as was a major concern. Still can't figure out why Supak went out to pitch in the 7th inning, his pitch count was if not nearing 130 pitches. The coach pinch ran for Nieser to warm him up I assume, and did not run for Supak. So you would assume Nieser would come in to close, however that was not the case. Supak give's up 3 straight base hit's in 7th inning and finishes with 147 pitches. The rest is history. I saw Bellville play early in the year at the La Grange Tourney, was not very impressed. Just a normally year in Bellville where a great coach make average athlete's into a solid team. Congrats to Bellville, but it's not over til it's over.

I'm more into softball, but enjoyed the baseball game tremendously. That was only third game I've seen Bellville baseball play this year. It's certainly not their best team ever, but they definitely have a never give up attitude.
First time I'd seen La Grange. They've also had better teams, but their guys hustle and work hard. I didn't realize the La Grange pitcher had thrown that many pitches. I have no idea how many pitches Bellville starter threw, but it was way up there also.
Bellville made the plays they had to to win.
Baserunning and fielding errors cost la grange which can't really be blamed on coach.
As I've said on Downlow b4, coaches usually get too much credit for wins and too much blame for losses.

I am more into baseball, coaching makes a big difference in the playoffs. Their are some real quaility coaches in our area ( Shiner, Weimar to name a few) amazing they all have ties to Bellville Coach.

Bellvilles coach seems to always get 110% out of his teams, I agree with you on these guys being real quaility coaches.

Great first game win for Bellville, however I'am going out on a limb that there will be 2 games Sat.. LG get's it's starting SS back today, if he plays and plays well with Leer pitching. I think LG will even the series. Then there's game 3 and that's where I would go with LG with Hrbacek on the mound. But you have to win the first one on Sat. to even think about game 3. So time will tell.

I hear the Luetge kid has the green light to go from the doctors. Wouldnt be surprised if he shows up on the mound the third game.

Just waiting to get started back up.
If the last game in this series does not get started by 12 midnight, the winner of the 1st game will advance.

BELLVILLE CAME BACK FROM A 4 RUN DEFFICIT IN THE 5TH TYING IT THEN SCORING 1 IN THE 6TH TO GET THE LEAD THEN THE PITCHING OF PEDERSON FINISHED THE GAME FOR THE BULLS. BEEN DOING A GOOD JOB CLOSING GAMES ALL YEAR FOR THE BULLS. LUETGE AND HOLLON PITCHED THE FIRST 3 INNINGS. HOLLON CAME BACK ON 1 DAY REST AFTER THROWING OVER 150 PITCHES IN THURSDAYS GAME AND PEDERSON CAME BACK AFTER STARTING THE AFTERNOON GAME IN LA GRANGE. GOOD JOB ALL THROUGH THE LINE-UP FOR THE BULLS. AND A GREAT WIN FOR THE TEAM. GOOD JOB BRAHMAS AND GOOD LUCK IN THE UPCOMING SERIES!

Brahmas were like a high school baseball version of Rocky. La grange kept pounding away, but could never knock Bellville out. Just when you thought Bellville was beaten they'd start pounding back at La grange.
Congratulations to La grange on season and valiant effort in series.
Great series and great win for the Bulls.

We were woundering were we had seen the La Grange Baseball coach, we found out he was in Burton and came to La Grange after having to leave Burton. I will not say why, but if you are from Burton you know.

I fortunately did not make any of the games. From what I hear, it was a tremendously sloppy series. In game 1, if LG can field a grounder they win. Listened to game 1 on radio and it lasted almost 4 hours. Congrats to the Brahmas, they never gave up and hustled the whole way. Bellville will have to play way better to win in the next round.
